Riva just updated their free FLV Video encoder to version 1.2. The encoder is based on the FFMPEG video conversion command line tool (GNU LGPL).

It has an easy to use GUI, but doesn’t support high-quality VBR or two passing encoding yet.

Features of the new version include

  • TSCC video codec support
  • 3GP audio codec support
  • Image Export of the first or all frames of a video as JPEG
  • FLVs possible as input files (e.g. for image extraction)
