Very interesting unique game concepts brought to live by a team of Jane Austen fans, beautifully executed with Flash.

In case you don’t know Jane Austen, here a short background.

Jane Austen (16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817) was an English novelist whose works of romantic fiction, set among the landed gentry, earned her a place as one of the most widely read writers in English literature. Her realism and biting social commentary has gained her historical importance among scholars and critics. [via Wikipedia]

She is the author of famous novels such as the highly rated Pride and Prejudice.

Jane Austen Games took the 19th century theme and has been developing a variety of games with a high level of authentic detail. Games include Jane Austen’s Party, Jane Austen’s Regency Dress Up, and Matchmaker (unfortunately postponed due to a lack of funding).

A gameplay preview of Jane Austen’s Party.

Stresstest on mobile, with what seems to be Adobe AIR.

In addition, the Dress Up game is available as online demo.

Great to see the passion that went into the games. Visit Jane Austen Games for more information, and to support their efforts with donations.
