Disclaimer: You can only play the game once, and then you’ll be locked out – forever. It is an amazing game with beautiful Flash Player 11 based visuals. So why would anyone design such a short lived game like this?

It’s part of the “Safer Journeys” initiative of the New Zealand Ministry of Transport.

Safer Journeys is the government’s strategy to guide improvements in road safety over the period 2010–2020. The strategy’s vision is a safe road system increasingly free of death and serious injury and introduces the Safe System approach to New Zealand.

The strategy is how New Zealand will contribute to the United Nations’ Decade of Action for Road Safety. [via Ministry of Transport]

After recovering from the irreversible virtual death, it certainly reminds of the epic Test Drive series starting almost 3 decades ago.

Let’s hope we’ll see similar racing games with a less agressive message in the browser soon.

Play the “Flash Driving Game” until you die.
