Sveriges Television AB deployed an interesting approach to enable AIR video playback on their HTML site. Since Android’s native web video stack is still fragmented across different versions, and lacks some features like DRM, AIR provides the missing functionality to enable desktop like playback.
If you visit the Swedish TV website in your Android mobile browser, it opens (or asks you to install) the SVT Play 2.1 application, which then will take care of the video playback.
