Curious how a solution like Adobe Primetime works with high-end broadcast encoders such as Elemental? Sam Blackman, CEO and co-founder of Elemental Technologies, is providing some insight.

In one of my previous posts, I described the concept of using a generic encoder with Adobe Media Server to perform live ad insertion with Adobe Primetime. The benefit of Elemental, and other encoders, supporting the functionality directly on the encoder is more accurate ad insertion with keyframes set at ad boundaries, as well as the ability to apply content protection right on the encoder. In addition live 608/708 CC is a key feature that Adobe Media Live Encoder is currently missing. In this case Adobe Media Server is not required for the ad cue point insertion anymore.
